RECTOR: Chris Miller


The Rev. Chris Miller began serving as rector of Immanuel Episcopal Church on July 1, 2017. Chris is a graduate of both Harvard College and Virginia Theological Seminary. Prior to serving at Immanuel, Chris was the Assistant Upper School Chaplain at St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia. He is married to the Reverend Sarah Miller and they have two sons: Peter and Andrew. His passion for spreading the love of Jesus, and walking alongside people on their faith journeys is so evident in all he does here at Immanuel.

MUSIC DIRECTOR: Justin Williams


Justin began as a substitute organist at Immanuel in 2011 and officially joined the church staff as Music Director in September 2018. He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the Music Director of Cavalier 21, a Pre-College String Orchestra in Midlothian. He also teaches music and music theory at Clover Hill High School. In addition to spending time with his wife, Roxanne, Justin also enjoys working on and restoring German cars. We are so blessed to benefit from Justin’s talents and passions for music here at Immanuel.

Megan joined the office staff at Immanuel in 2018. She is a graduate of Cincinnati Christian University and Regent University. Megan and her husband Ryan have called Mechanicsville home since 2013. They have one son, Gavin. Prior to working at Immanuel, Megan served as a grief counselor with a local Hospice and ran her own social-media marketing business. Her passions for both working with people and communications have been a great benefit to our congregation.

Joy began serving as preschool director at Immanuel in August 2005. She is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College and has an extensive background in education. Joy and her husband David have three children: Grayson, Austin, and Maggie. In her free time she enjoys traveling, gardening, and reading. Joy’s love of, and talent for, nurturing young children is an invaluable asset to our community.

SEXTON: Seselia “Bunny” Coles


Bunny joined the team at Immanuel in the early 90’s. She, and her husband Jerome, are long-time residents of Old Church and active members of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She has two daughters: Angelique and Rhonda.  In her free time Bunny enjoys playing cards and fellowshipping with others. Our community is so blessed not only by Bunny’s work here at Immanuel, but even more so by her sweet and caring spirit.
