The new drop ceiling and LED lighting in the Parish House has been finished!

Wednesday Wireless - Immanuel's Weekly News Update

Guest Preacher This Sunday

Join us on Sunday to hear our guest preacher, the Rev. Scott Parnell. Scott is the chaplain at Christchurch School in Middlesex County, VA. It will be a joy to welcome Scott to Immanuel.

Parish House Renovation Update

As of Monday afternoon, the finishing touches were put on the new drop ceiling in the Parish House. The LED lighting is magnificent and the new ceiling design will decrease the amount of money we spend on heating and cooling the Parish House as well as diminishing our impact on the environment. We will only be able to access one bathroom on Sunday. Please plan accordingly.

Join us for Vacation Bible School, sponsored by Bethlehem Presbyterian, Immanuel Episcopal, and Mt. Zion Baptist churches. This year's theme is Camp Discovery: Jesus at Work Through Us.  To register your child, fill out the registration form linked here and turn in the completed form to the Parish Office no later than July 1. If you have any questions about Vacation Bible School please email the Rev. Education for Ministry

EfM is a distance learning experience from the School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee; "a program of theological

education based on small group study and practice." Over 80,000 participants from all over the world have discovered and nurtured their call to Christian service through this program.

In today's complicated world, learning about the ways to see your life through a spiritual lens can't provide you with all the answers, but it can give you a safe place to ask the hard questions, to learn how we got to where we are in today's church through the study of the Old and New Testaments, the history of the church, and by being introduced to theological reflection and readings.

We will have room in our group for several new members starting in the fall.  Registration materials will be available in early July and our sessions will begin in mid-September.  Ask any current EfM participant or graduate about their experience!  Or check it out at!

The Scoop:  Tuition will be $375 per student, meetings are held once a week, with several brief breaks around major church holidays, all books and materials are provided, expect about 2 hours of reading to prepare for each session, members provide light refreshments to share for the group several times each session. Contact Lindsay Ryland ( or Dabney Morriss ( if you have questions.

Prayer List Updates

Please email the Rev. Chris Miller ( and Britton Trimble ( if you have anyone you would like added to our prayer list. Additionally, please review the prayer list this coming Sunday to see if there is anyone that you would like removed from the prayer list as circumstances change.

We have a nursery available every Sunday during our 10 AM service. The nursery is located inside the Parish House building, next to the church.

During the summer months, please feel free to show up to church early on Sunday morning, find a robe, and hop in the procession with the choir. We welcome all levels of singing ability to join the Immanuel Choir.
