Pilgrimage to Liverpool Begins on Sunday

Our pilgrims and adult sponsors will be commissioned during Sunday's 10am service, and will leave right after church for Liverpool. They return on July 25. Please keep them in your prayers. Then, the Liverpudlians come to Virginia in August! They'll be here for worship on Sunday, August 6, and we'll host them for a quick after-church lunch and a more relaxing dinner on that day so you can get to know them! More details about the plans for that Sunday will be available in late July.

Help Needed on August 6

We'll be hosting the Liverpool pilgrims for lunch and dinner on Sunday, August 6. We're considering a traditional fried chicken picnic lunch and are planning a low country boil (which would include a shrimp-free option) for dinner. Can you help with prep, setup, serving, clean-up, etc.? If so, please see Jim Trimble, Britton Trimble, Chris Miller, or Jason Anderson.

Habitat Needs You!

Hanover Habitat is looking for volunteers to help finish their 62nd home on Beatties Mill. They want to help the Hetrick family get in their home before school starts, and in order to do that, they need your help!

They need volunteers from the end of July through the end of August, specifically on Fridays and Saturdays. They'd love to have groups or individuals join them!  They look for 8 individuals each work day, and start at 8:30 a.m. and end by 3:30 p.m.!

You can check out their online calendar to see what days are open and work with your schedule.  Email them now to sign up!

Church Email Address Change

Verizon, which had hosted the church's email for some time, is out of the email business.   The Rev. Chris Miller can be emailed at Britton Trimble, the Parish Administrator, can now be emailed at Joy Morgan, the Cherub School Director, can be emailed at

Education for MInistry - Register by July 15!

EfM is a distance learning experience from the School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee; " a program of theological education based on small group study and practice." Over 80,000 participants from all over the world have discovered and nurtured their call to Christian service through this program.

In today's complicated world, learning about the ways to see your life through a spiritual lens can't provide you with all the answers, but it can give you a safe place to ask the hard questions, to learn how we got to where we are in today's church through the study of the Old and New Testaments, the history of the church, and by being introduced to theological reflection and readings.

We will have room in our group for up to four new members starting in the fall. The registration deadline is Saturday, July 15.  Registration materials are available now by contacting Lindsay Ryland and our sessions will begin in late September.

Ask any current EfM participant or graduate about their experience!  Or check it out at!

Garden of Grace

Current garden tasks include weeding and watering. A call for help will go out when we need helping picking vegetables!

There are many families out there who need food, and CornerStone Food Bank folks work hard to help as many as possible! Your donations go a long way towards helping those in need. July's suggested items are meat stew and vegetables.
