Wednesday Wireless - Immanuel's Weekly News Update
Parish Picnic at Whitehall
Mark your calendars for our annual parish picnic at Whitehall on Sunday, September 17! After our regular Sunday service of Holy Eucharist at 10:00 AM we will travel to Whitehall in Walkerton (approx. 30 minutes from Immanuel) for food, fellowship, and fun on the water. Chicken will be provided. Please bring a side or dessert and contact Boo Elmore at email@example.com with any questions about the picnic.
United Thank Offering
Immanuel's annual United Thank Offering (UTO) is underway! UTO boxes are available in the church now; our UTO ingathering will be on September 17.
Thanks for your continued support of CornerStone's food pantry! September's suggested donations are: fish, vegetables, and beans.
After a long summer break, Adult formation will resume on September 24. We will gather in the library following refreshments to continue our study of Matthew. Our focus in this class comes from the work of N.T. Wright, a prominent New Testament theologian. "Tom" Wright emphasizes Jesus as Messiah and Teacher and proposes that His life announced the Kingdom of God on earth. Please join us even if you weren't able to come last year. No preparation is required. For information contact Joan Beal.
Choir is taking a break until Sunday, September 17 with a 9am rehearsal before the 10am service. Choir will rehearse on Wednesdays from 7pm until 9pm September 20 through October 11, when it resumes its normal 7:30pm until 9pm Wednesday rehearsal schedule. Director Jimmy Hicks is out for the first two weeks in September as he recovers from surgery, but please see him when he returns for more information.
Immanuel's Celebration of New Ministry
On Tuesday, October 3, at 6pm, we will gather for a special worship service with Bishop Ted Gulick to celebrate the work and ministry of our Immanuel church family. A reception will follow in the Parish House. Please join us!
