EfM - Fertile ground to grow your faith
Like the mustard see, we need fertile soil to grow. Education for Ministry (EfM) is like that fertile soil and we are the mustard seeds. Learning about the Old and New Testaments, church history, and discovering theology is the light shining on the soil, warming it so the seed will sprout.
Bringing the light of what we learn to share in an intimate group setting each week allows for insights and growth - new afirmations and understandings - that can sustain and support us in our lives as Christians living day-to-day in the world.
For the interested or just curious, talk to one of the experienced EfM folks at Immanuel or visit efm.sewanee.edu. There is lots of helpful information, including sample lessons on the website.
A new EfM year will begin in early September. Registrations are due on July 25. For more information or to sign up, contact Dabney Morriss or Lindsay Ryland.

Prayer List Update
Our prayer list is very long, and we are in the process of bringing it up to date. So please submit the name(s) of people who need to be on teh list, or people who can be removed. You can do this by filling out a Prayer List Update Card (available in the church and in the Parish House) and placing it in the plate or returning it to the Parish Office. Thank you.
Donations for CornerStone
August's suggested donations include canned meats and beans. Fish, vegetables, and beans are the suggested donations for September. Thanks for all that you do to help those in need!
Making Sure the Parish House is Locked and Secured!
If you are the last person to leave the Parish House, it's up to you to lock up and arm the security system. If the system only beeps once when you try to arm it instead of starting the 45 second countdown of beeps, it's not armed. Pull the main door more tightly closed, stand still in front of the alarm panel for a moment, and try again. If you set off the alarm by mistake, please call Britton Trimble, Parish Administrator immediately at 814-7342. Please call Britton if you have trouble arming the system.
