Cherub Classrooms are back in order!
Wednesday Wireless - Immanuel's Weekly News Update
Parish House Renovation Update
The Nursery and all three bathrooms are in working order. The pod has been emptied and as of Thursday, should be removed from the property. The main reception area and the kitchen remain closed while work continues. For safety and to minimize additional work for our sexton and our contractors, please follow instructions on all signs posted in the Parish House. We hope to regain access to all areas of the building soon. Stay tuned for more on an exact completion date.
Parish House Renovation Celebration
Join us after church on Sunday, August 12 to celebrate the completion of the Parish House Renovation. We will have BBQ for lunch and a festive celebration of all the work that has gone into the renovation project.
Brief Update on Music Director Search
Our Music Director Search Committee includes Eleanor Fukushima, David Jennings, the Rev. Chris Miller, Pat Cowling (Junior Warden), and Warren Rice (Senior Warden). An open period to receive names will end next week. Our search committee will then interview candidates. We are already hopeful about the quality of applicants. Stay tuned for more information.
As we reach the middle of the summer, it is greatly appreciated if you can continue with your pledge installments on whatever schedule you established at the beginning of the calendar year. The Vestry and the Stewardship Committee are extremely grateful for your generosity this year. Not only have we paid our bills on time but we have also been able to do some much needed upgrades to our facilities. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
There is still time to contribute to the Appreciation Fund which will be given to Britton Trimble. We will receive contributions until Tuesday, July 31. If you would like to contribute, please make a check out to "Immanuel Episcopal Church" and put "Appreciation Fund" in the memo line. Please mail the check to the church or place it in the bin on the main office door inside the Parish House.
Old Photos of the Church
If you have old photographs of the church (especially interior photos) the 1853 Building Committee would love to see them. If you know of others who might have pictures too, we would appreciate you reaching out to see if we could have copies. Please mail or hand deliver any photos you can find to the Rev. Chris Miller.
Education for Ministry Registration
We will have room in our group for several new members starting in the fall. Registration materials will be available in early July and our sessions will begin in mid-September. Ask any current EfM participant or graduate about their experience! Or check it out at http://efm.sewanee.edu/
The Scoop: Tuition will be $375 per student, meetings are held once a week, with several brief breaks around major church holidays, all books and materials are provided, expect about 2 hours of reading to prepare for each session, members provide light refreshments to share for the group several times each session. Contact Lindsay Ryland (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Dabney Morriss (email@example.com) if you have questions.
Prayer List Updates
Please email the Rev. Chris Miller (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have anyone you would like added to our prayer list. You may also email Chris if there is anyone that you would like removed from the prayer list as circumstances change.
Nursery Every Sunday
We have a nursery available every Sunday during our 10 AM service. The nursery is located inside the Parish House building, next to the church.
During the summer months, please feel free to show up to church early on Sunday morning, find a robe, and hop in the procession with the choir. We welcome all levels of singing ability to join the Immanuel Choir.
CornerStone Food Bank
Thanks for your continued support of CornerStone's food pantry! July's suggested items include meat stew and vegetables.
