Wednesday Wireless - Immanuel's Weekly News Update
Parish House Renovation Update
The second of three stages of floor installation is nearing completion. Ceramic tile has been installed in all three restrooms, the kitchen, the pantry, and the closet next to the kitchen. Many thanks to Brian Stout for his work removing, replacing, and re-installing bathroom fixtures during the installation. The handicap accessible bathroom and the men's room are fully functional. The women's room will most likely be functional by Sunday. Next week we will start the installation of Luxury Vinyl Tile in the main areas of the Parish House.
Lost and Found
Do you recognize this large blue Athletx Series jacket or this handmade quilted and cross-stitched cat pillow? Both of these items have showed up in the Parish House recently. Please email Britton Trimble at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, July 18 claim them. If they are still unclaimed after the 18th, we will donate them to CornerStone.
Education for Ministry
EfM is a distance learning experience from the School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee; "a program of theological
education based on small group study and practice." Over 80,000 participants from all over the world have discovered and nurtured their call to Christian service through this program.
In today's complicated world, learning about the ways to see your life through a spiritual lens can't provide you with all the answers, but it can give you a safe place to ask the hard questions, to learn how we got to where we are in today's church through the study of the Old and New Testaments, the history of the church, and by being introduced to theological reflection and readings.
We will have room in our group for several new members starting in the fall. Registration materials will be available in early July and our sessions will begin in mid-September. Ask any current EfM participant or graduate about their experience! Or check it out at Sewanee.edu/EfM!
The Scoop: Tuition will be $375 per student, meetings are held once a week, with several brief breaks around major church holidays, all books and materials are provided, expect about 2 hours of reading to prepare for each session, members provide light refreshments to share for the group several times each session. Contact Lindsay Ryland (email@example.com) or Dabney Morriss (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have questions.
Prayer List Updates
Please email the Rev. Chris Miller (email@example.com) and Britton Trimble (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have anyone you would like added to our prayer list. Additionally, please review the prayer list this coming Sunday to see if there is anyone that you would like removed from the prayer list as circumstances change.
We have a nursery available every Sunday during our 10 AM service. The nursery is located inside the Parish House building, next to the church.
During the summer months, please feel free to show up to church early on Sunday morning, find a robe, and hop in the procession with the choir. We welcome all levels of singing ability to join the Immanuel Choir.
