The Liverpool-Virginia Pilgrimage group prepares for a traditional fish and chips dinner at Crosby Beach as the Virginia, English, and Union Jack flags supplied by our Liverpudlian hosts wave in the breeze.

Wednesday Wireless - Immanuel's Weekly News Update

Meet the Liverpool Pilgrims and Enjoy a Low Country Boil!

A great opportunity to spend time with the Liverpool pilgrims will be on Sunday evening, August 6 at the Low Country Boil. We'll get started at 7pm, and will have alternatives to shrimp if you have allergies or other difficulties with seafood. If you are planning to attend the Low Country Boil, please RSVP to Britton Trimble (btrimble@immanueloc.org or 804-779-3454) no later than Thursday morning, August 3.

Help Needed and Lunch with the Pilgrims on August 6

We'll be hosting the Liverpool pilgrims for lunch immediately following worship on Sunday, August 6. We're planning a traditional fried chicken picnic lunch.  Can you help with prep, setup, serving, clean-up, etc.? If so, please let Britton Trimble (btrimble@immanueloc.org or 804-779-3454) know by Thursday morning, August 3.

Backpacks, School Supplies, and Undergarments Needed

Let's help needy families get ready for a new school year! Please bring your donations to the Parish House by August 20 and we'll get them to CornerStone for distribution.  See the blue collection basket in the foyer of the Parish House or the main bulletin board in the Parish House for the list of needed items. Don't forget that this coming Friday-Sunday, August 4-6, is the Virginia Tax-Free Weekend. School supplies, clothing, footwear, hurricane preparedness supplies, and EnergyStar products are all tax-free.

Habitat Needs You!

Hanover Habitat is looking for volunteers to help finish their 62nd home on Beatties Mill. They want to help the Hetrick family get in their home before school starts, and in order to do that, they need your help!

They need volunteers from the end of July through the end of August, specifically on Fridays and Saturdays. They'd love to have groups or individuals join them!  They look for 8 individuals each work day, and start at 8:30 a.m. and end by 3:30 p.m.!

You can check out their online calendar to see what days are open and work with your schedule.  Email them now to sign up!

CornerStone

There are many families out there who need food, and CornerStone Food Bank folks work hard to help as many as possible! Your donations go a long way towards helping those in need. August's suggested items are canned meats and beans.
