Shrine Mont Parish Weekend
Last call for our parish weekend at Shrine Mont. We will be at our diocesan camp and conference center in Orkney Springs, Virginia from May 18 to May 20. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board in the Parish House. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, May 6. If you have questions about Shrine Mont, please speak with the Rev. Chris Miller, David Jennings, or Eleanor Fukushima.
Old Church Garden Fair
Shop for deals on garden plants and homemade baked goods while you enjoy live music, homemade pork barbecue, historic church tours, and kids' activities. "God only knows what you'll find," at the Old Church Garden Fair, Saturday, May 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Immanuel.
You'll find cuttings from the gardens of parishioners as well as a variety of locally grown bedding plants, herbs, hanging baskets, shrubs, and trees at the popular annual plant sale.
Hanover County Master Gardeners will answer questions about growing plants and solving problems.
Pull up a chair and tap your feet to music by the popular local band, "57 Degrees," while you enjoy Bill Jewell's famous homemade pork barbecue for lunch. You can also order dinners to-go and barbecue by the pound. Meals include pork barbecue, coleslaw, baked beans, pasta salad, and rolls.
Don't miss out on homemade goodies at the bake sale. You'll find a large assortment of homemade cakes, pies, cookies, breads, jams, and jellies made by church members.
Make a teacup flower arrangement with freshly cut flowers from church members' gardens to take home or give to a friend. Members of the Altar Guild will teach you how. Teacups and mugs will be provided while supplies last, or bring your own cup and saucer.
Thursday Bible Study
Join us for Bible Study on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. We meet at 7:45 AM at the Parish House to study the upcoming Sunday's readings from the lectionary. Please reach out to David Jennings or the Rev. Chris Miller with questions.
We have a nursery available every Sunday during our 10 AM service. The nursery is located inside the Parish House building, next to the church.
Godly Play meets on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of each month. Godly Play is a curriculum designed to help children explore faith through stories. Godly Play is open to 3 year olds up to 5th graders.
Have you ever thought about joining the choir? If so, now is the perfect time! The choir is currently rehearsing at 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings right before worship. You don't need to commit beyond one Sunday at a time. Show up, get a choir robe, and have fun with fellow choir members. If you have any questions, just ask one of the choir members in the blue and white robes after church.
